The Global Sustainability Short Film Alliance is an initiative to promote the production of sustainability-themed short films by higher education institutions, and the subsequent spread of sustainable ideas around the world.
The UN’s 17 sustainable development goals are important to consider in all the choices we make, as individuals and as a society. And it is important that we, as higher educational institutions, play our part to increase awareness around sustainability issues, through global international cooperation.
The alliance is made up of universities and film schools around the world, that contributes with sustainability films to a shared pool. The individual participating institution can subsequently use this pool of films to screen at local events and film festivals.
This is also a great opportunity for students to showcase their productions and to get their messages across, to a wide international audience. The screenings will contribute to increased awareness and the audiences’ understanding of the need for sustainability.
